Every week, local musicians take the stage on our rooftop patio. Here's why it's become Canon City's favorite live music venue.
There's something about live music outdoors that a sound system inside four walls can never replicate. The way the sound carries across an open rooftop, mixing with the evening breeze and the distant hum of the Arkansas River below — it's a completely different experience.
That's why we made live music a cornerstone of Whitewater Rooftop Social from day one.
The Setup
Our rooftop stage sits at the west end of the patio, backed by the Sangre de Cristo mountains. During golden hour, the performer is literally playing in front of a sunset. We didn't plan that. Colorado did.
The sound system is designed for acoustic and small-band performances — loud enough to fill the patio, but not so loud you can't have a conversation at your table. We're not a concert venue. We're a restaurant where live music makes a good night great.
The Musicians
We work with local and regional artists across genres — folk, Americana, blues, rock, and everything in between. Colorado has an incredible music scene, and southern Colorado especially is full of talented performers who don't get enough stages.
Some of our regulars have built real followings from their rooftop sets. Visitors who came for dinner and stayed for the music, then followed the artist on Spotify, then came back the next time they played. That's the kind of organic connection that doesn't happen in a bar with a TV in every corner.
The Vibe
Friday and Saturday nights are when the rooftop comes alive. By 6pm, the tables start filling up. By 7pm, when the music kicks in, you've got people sipping cocktails, splitting breadboards, and watching the sky turn pink behind the mountains.
There's no cover charge. Ever. The music is part of the experience, not an upsell. Grab a drink, grab a seat, and let the evening unfold.
Want to Play?
We're always looking for talented musicians to add to our rotation. If you're a solo artist, duo, or small band interested in playing the rooftop, head to wwrooftopsocial.com/live-music and fill out the performer inquiry form. We book several weeks out during peak season (March through December), so the earlier you reach out, the better.
